Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and [FILL IN — registered company name, e.g. Prenta, Inc.] (“Prenta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Prenta mobile app, our website at prenta.app, and related services (the Service). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By accessing, downloading, registering for, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you use the Service on behalf of a household or other people, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to accept these Terms on their behalf where appropriate.
2. Definitions
- Service — the Prenta mobile app, the prenta.app website, and all related features and functionality.
- You / User — any person who accesses or uses the Service.
- Account Holder — a User who creates a Prenta account.
- Household — a shared space in Prenta where members coordinate tasks and lists.
- Household Member — a person added to a Household; a Guest is a member with access limited to specific categories.
- Project — a shared list that may include collaborators inside or outside your Household.
- Your Content — the information and materials you provide, including tasks, lists, notes, photos, household / member / pet / vehicle details, and gratitude messages.
- AI-Assisted Features — recommendations and text produced or phrased with automated or AI tools.
3. Eligibility & Account Age
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Prenta account. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms and is responsible for your use. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Adults may add children of any age as Household Members. If you do, you are responsible for that information and for having the right to provide it (see Households, Members, Guests & Your Responsibilities).
4. Your Account & Security
- You can create an account using your email address or by signing in with Apple or Google.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You may delete your account at any time in the app's settings. After deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period and is then permanently erased, subject to the retention described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk or legal exposure.
5. Your Content & License
You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of the tasks, lists, notes, photos, household details, or messages you create.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate, secure, and provide the Service to you and the people you choose to share it with. This license exists only so that the Service can function (for example, to store your tasks and show them to your household).
- This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies retained in routine backups for a limited time or as required by law.
- We do not use Your Content for advertising.
- We do not use Your Content to train AI models.
- You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights necessary to provide it.
6. Households, Members, Guests & Your Responsibilities
Prenta lets you build a Household, add members (including children), pets, and vehicles, invite Guests and co-parents, and create Projects. With that ability comes responsibility:
- You must have the right — and any necessary consent — to add another person's information to Prenta. For a child, you must be their parent or legal guardian or have that person's authorization.
- Do not add or invite someone, or share information about them, without their knowledge.
- As an Account Holder or admin, you control what each member and Guest can see, and you can grant or revoke access at any time. You are responsible for how you configure that sharing.
- Information you share in a Household (such as tasks, completion activity, streaks, and gratitude messages) is visible to other members according to their access. Members should not expect privacy as to activity within shared lists.
- You are responsible for the content you post in shared spaces and must follow the Acceptable Use rules below.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law;
- harass, abuse, threaten, or harm another person, including other members of your Household;
- upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or send spam;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without authorization;
- attempt to access areas of the Service you are not authorized to use, or circumvent security or access controls;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where the law expressly permits;
- misuse referral or promotional codes, or engage in fraudulent activity.
8. Reporting & Content Standards
Prenta is a private household tool — Your Content is shared only within the Households and Projects you choose, not published to the public. Even so, content you share with others must not be illegal, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or infringing.
If you believe content or conduct on the Service violates these Terms, report it to support@prenta.app with the subject “Report.” We may review reported content and, at our discretion, remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
9. AI-Assisted Features & Not Professional Advice
Prenta uses rule-based logic and limited AI to suggest and phrase household tasks and reminders. AI-Assisted Features are provided to help you organize your household and are informational only.
- Recommendations and reminders may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not suited to your situation.
- They are not professional advice — including medical, health, legal, financial, tax, veterinary, automotive, or safety advice — and are not a substitute for a qualified professional.
- You are responsible for verifying important dates and obligations (for example, insurance and inspection renewals, health screenings, or passport renewals) with the relevant authority or professional. Do not rely on Prenta as your only reminder for time-sensitive or safety-critical matters.
10. Subscriptions, Payments & Auto-Renewal
Prenta offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions. New users may receive an introductory period of full premium access (currently 30 days); after it ends, the account continues on the free tier unless you subscribe. Prenta Core unlocks premium features for the subscriber and their Household, and optional Extra Lists add-ons allow additional Projects or Households.
- Current prices are shown in the app at the point of purchase, in U.S. dollars, and may vary by region or platform. Applicable taxes may be added.
- Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play (and managed through RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price until you cancel. Your chosen payment method will be charged at each renewal.
- You can cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play account settings. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
11. Referrals & Promotional Codes
- You may earn or redeem referral and promotional codes subject to the rules shown when they are offered.
- Codes and rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
- We may delay, withhold, or revoke rewards to prevent fraud or abuse (for example, self-referral or codes used during a refund window).
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any referral or promotional program at any time.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service — including its software, design, look and feel, text, graphics, and the Prenta name and logo — is owned by [FILL IN — registered company name, e.g. Prenta, Inc.] or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for Your Content and the limited rights to use the Service granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that recommendations and reminders will be accurate or delivered on time. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, [FILL IN — REGISTERED COMPANY NAME, E.G. PRENTA, INC.] AND ITS OWNERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE — INCLUDING ANY MISSED REMINDER OR INACCURATE RECOMMENDATION.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $100.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless [FILL IN — registered company name, e.g. Prenta, Inc.] and its owners, directors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, Your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person — including information you add about other people without authorization.
16. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end, and the provisions that by their nature should survive (such as content licenses for retained backups, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and give you notice in the app, by email, or on our website before they take effect. If you do not agree with an update, you can stop using the Service and delete your account; continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [FILL IN — U.S. state, e.g. Delaware] and the applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Let's talk first. Before filing a claim, please contact us at legal@prenta.app so we can try to resolve the issue informally. If we cannot, you agree that any dispute that is not resolved will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [FILL IN — county and state, e.g. New Castle County, Delaware], and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
19. Severability & Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
