Prenta — Mobile App & Website
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026 · Version 1.0
This Privacy Policy explains how [FILL IN — registered company name, e.g. Prenta, Inc.] (“Prenta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Prenta mobile app, our website at prenta.app (including the early-access waitlist), and related services (together, the Service). It also describes the choices and privacy rights you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are & What This Policy Covers
Prenta is a smart household-management app that helps families and households organize tasks, share lists, and receive personalized recommendations. The Service is operated by [FILL IN — registered company name, e.g. Prenta, Inc.], [FILL IN — street address], [FILL IN — city, state ZIP], United States.
This policy applies to personal information we handle through the Prenta mobile app, the prenta.app website and waitlist, and our customer support. It does not apply to third-party products or services that have their own privacy policies (see Third-Party Services & Links below).
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and a limited amount of information from third parties. The table below groups what we collect into categories.
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifiers | Email address, name, account ID, profile photo | You; sign-in provider |
| Profile details | Pronouns, date of birth, app preferences (theme, accent color, text size) | You |
| Home & location | Property type, housing status, and outdoor spaces; and, from the address or city you enter, your city, state/region, country, postal code, climate zone, and the latitude and longitude of that location (which can identify it precisely). We store these fields rather than the raw street-address text. | You |
| Household members | Names, relationships, birthdays, and photos of household members you add — including children (see § 6) | You (the account holder) |
| Pets & vehicles | Pet name, species, breed, birthday, and care dates; vehicle nickname, make, model, year, and insurance/inspection dates | You |
| Document & renewal dates | Passport, driver's license, and Global Entry issue dates — used to remind you about renewals | You |
| Tasks & activity | Tasks, lists, and notes you create; completion records; appreciation/“thanks” and optional gratitude messages; streaks and summaries | You and your household |
| Sensitive information | Biological sex, vision/eye-exam details, and religious-observance preferences — all optional (see § 3) | You |
| Usage & device data | App interactions, recommendation actions (accept/dismiss/snooze), time-of-day activity, diagnostic and log data, device type and operating system, push-notification token, and IP address | Automatically |
| Subscription & referrals | Subscription plan and renewal status, referral and promotional codes | You; app stores |
| Inferred information | Attributes our Smart Profiling feature infers about your household (computed on your device until you confirm them — see § 7) | Derived |
| Communications | Support requests, feedback, and correspondence with us; an email address you submit to the waitlist | You |
3. Sensitive Information
Some features rely on information that certain U.S. state laws (such as California's CPRA) treat as sensitive personal information. With Prenta, this can include:
- Precise geolocation — the latitude/longitude coordinates derived from the address you provide, used to tailor local and climate-based recommendations;
- Health-related details — biological sex (used to tailor health and wellness reminders) and vision correction / last eye-exam dates;
- Religious observance — whether you celebrate holidays such as Christmas or Hanukkah, used to tailor seasonal recommendations.
Providing this information is always optional — you can choose “Rather not say,” and if you decline, we do not store it. We use sensitive information only to provide the personalization features you have chosen, not to infer characteristics about you for unrelated purposes, and never to sell or share it for advertising. You can review, change, or remove these details at any time in the app, and limit how this information is used as described in Your Privacy Rights & Choices.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Service, including to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- run your household — coordinate tasks, lists, assignments, and activity among the members and guests you invite;
- generate personalized task recommendations based on your household profile, season, and climate;
- tailor health, pet-care, and vehicle-maintenance reminders to the details you provide;
- send push notifications and reminders, and (if you connect it) sync tasks to your calendar;
- process subscriptions, referrals, and promotional codes, and prevent referral fraud and abuse;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Service, and prevent fraud and misuse;
- understand how the Service is used so we can fix problems and improve features;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
6. Household Members, Children & Information About Others
Prenta lets you add information about other people — household members, children, pets, co-parents, and guests. When you do, you represent that you have the authority and any necessary permission to provide their information and to share it within your household. Please do not add someone, or share details about them, without their knowledge (or, for a child, the consent of their parent or guardian).
Children
You must be at least 13 years old to create your own Prenta account. Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 to create accounts. If we learn we have collected such information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it.
Account holders may add children of any age as household members (for example, a child's name, birthday, and photo, to enable age-appropriate reminders). That information is provided and controlled by the adult account holder, who is responsible for it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child's information has been added without your authorization, contact us at privacy@prenta.app and we will help.
7. AI & Automated Features
Prenta's recommendations are powered mostly by rule-based logic, not artificial intelligence. We match human-curated task templates to your household using deterministic rules (for example, your home type, season, and the profile details you provide).
- Smart Profiling may infer household attributes (such as the presence of a pet) from how you use the app. We show any inferred detail to you for confirmation before we rely on it, and you can turn Smart Profiling off in Settings.
- We may use an AI language model to phrase a recommendation in natural, friendly language. It receives only the template text and a limited set of values (such as a first name, a pet's name, or your climate) — not your full profile or raw data.
- We do not use your personal information to train AI models.
8. Your Privacy Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, U.S. state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws in states such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas — give you the following rights:
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Know / Access | Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you |
| Delete | Request that we delete personal information we collected from you |
| Correct | Request that we correct inaccurate personal information |
| Portability | Receive a copy of your information in a portable format |
| Opt out of sale/sharing | We do not sell or “share” your information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you have the right |
| Limit sensitive information | Limit our use of sensitive information to what is needed to provide the features you requested |
| Non-discrimination | We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights |
How to exercise your rights
- In the app — you can export your data and delete your account directly from Settings;
- By email — write to privacy@prenta.app with the subject “Privacy Request.”
We will respond within 45 days (and may extend this where the law allows, with notice). We will verify your identity before acting on a request. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. You can also manage notification, calendar, and recommendation settings, and turn off Smart Profiling, in the app at any time.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy, then delete or de-identify it.
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account & profile data | Kept while your account is active; after you delete your account, retained for a 30-day grace period and then permanently erased |
| Household, tasks & activity | Kept while the household exists or until you delete it; shared activity tied to other members may persist for them |
| Support communications | Kept as long as needed to resolve your request and for our records |
| Subscription & referral records | Kept as needed to manage your subscription and prevent fraud |
| Legal & compliance records | Kept as long as required by applicable law |
We keep a change history of your profile attributes so we can explain and export your data accurately. After deletion, we may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer identify you.
10. Data Security
We use appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:
- encryption of data in transit (TLS);
- secure on-device storage of sign-in tokens (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android);
- access controls and authentication for our systems;
- network protection, rate limiting, and abuse prevention;
- ongoing review of our security practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Services & Links
When you sign in with Apple or Google, connect a calendar, or make a purchase through the App Store or Google Play, those companies handle your information under their own privacy policies. The Service may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties — please review their policies before sharing information with them.
13. Where Your Information Is Processed
Prenta is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored on infrastructure located in the United States and other regions our service providers operate in. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and give you notice in the app, by email, or on our website before they take effect. If you do not agree with an update, you can stop using the Service and delete your account; continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
